Merry was 5 when she started singing in her first musical group, the New Penny Singers. Her father, being a crooner in the 1940s, gave her and her siblings the gift of music and the freedom to follow their love of it!She learned the drums from her brother, and honed her singing skills from her sister and father, along with the training of her musical instructors and vocal professors. All of this great training led to a scholarship for music at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Merry became a member of her first professional band in 1987, fresh out of high school. By the summer of 1989, she left college to go on the road with a touring cover band, playing drums and singing. During her travels, Merry has loaned her voice to session work and commercial jingles. Her next challenge was to become more significant with her peers, while staying in the rhythm section, so she bought a bass, and through her travels spent time with other bass players, learning everything she could from them.
Her influences include Sting, Paul McCartney, Getty Lee, Doug Pinnick, Verdeen White, Chris Squire, Kip Winger, and the mighty Michael Anthony! Her passion to perform grew into her own emblem of entertainer!
Merry currently performs with touring group FOUNDRY; Three Lock Box, the ultimate salute to Sammy Hagar; STP+, tribute to Stone Temple Pilots; GRUNGENATION, 90`s grunge band; Petty & The Heartshakers, tribute to Tom Petty (sub gig), Duover; and The B-Team.
